Pamana:
Embracing the Heritage of Capiz

This activity brought JCI Roxas Makawiwili members and their children to a meaningful cultural immersion through the Balay-Balay Program of the Capiz Provincial Tourism and Cultural Affairs Office last May 31, 2025. Held at the Capiz Ecology Park and Cultural Village in Cuartero, the experience featured traditional activities such as indigenous games, weaving, meal preparation, and storytelling with cultural masters. This initiative supports the chapter’s ongoing research and program development while deepening appreciation for Capiznon heritage. Conducted in partnership with PTCAO, the project also formed part of the celebration of National Heritage Month.

Kawi Forest Project

A commitment to climate action marked a major environmental milestone for JCI Roxas Makawiwili as the chapter signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with the Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Office (MENRO) of Pilar, Capiz on June 1, 2025. Through this partnership, the chapter formally adopted a 1-hectare mangrove forest in Pilar, as part of JCI Philippines’ Green Project, a nationwide initiative promoting sustainable environmental stewardship. The adopted site will serve as a long-term reforestation and eco-education area for future chapter and community-led activities. This project reflects JCI Roxas Makawiwili’s enduring commitment to climate action and local ecological preservation.

Stray Sessions

This event showcased JCI Roxas Makawiwili’s heart for both community and animal welfare as it hosted a fundraising night in partnership with Silong sang Roxas, local animal welfare groups, and civic organizations. Held as a high-energy event featuring live bands and a DJ set, the initiative successfully combined advocacy with entertainment. 100% of the proceeds will fund vaccination, spaying, and neutering efforts for stray animals in Roxas City—directly supporting the city’s efforts to manage the stray population humanely and responsibly. This project reinforces JCI Roxas Makawiwili’s commitment to responsible pet ownership, public safety, and proactive collaboration with the local government.

The Purple Hour

This was a heartfelt initiative by JCI Roxas Makawiwili that celebrated the strength, leadership, and impact of women in Roxas City, in partnership with Roxas City Council of Women's Organizations. The event recognized outstanding local women leaders across various fields who have made meaningful contributions to the community. As part of this advocacy, the chapter also launched the Lilac Awards, a new recognition platform specifically for young women leaders aged 18 to 40, aiming to uplift emerging voices and inspire future changemakers. The Purple Hour affirms JCI Roxas Makawiwili’s ongoing commitment to women empowerment and inclusive leadership development.
